Zycord v0.6.1: testnet rehearsal on October 5, mainnet on October 7

- Testnet rehearsal: 2026-10-05 00:00 UTC
- Mainnet genesis: 2026-10-07 00:00 UTC
- Downloads: zycord.com/download
The rules are frozen at v0.6.1 and one binary runs both networks. From the 5th the testnet runs mainnet’s rules, so the launch, solo mining and pool mining are all rehearsed two days before mainnet opens. Come mine it.
The Network Status tool counts down to both.
Desktop wallet
- Download it from the site. Settings → Network → Testnet for the rehearsal, Mainnet for the launch.
- Settings → Network services → Mining: pick Mine solo with the built-in miner (set Mining threads, 0 = every core), Mine solo with my own miner, such as XMRig, or Mine with a pool. Then Save and lock.
Command line
zcd wallet new --out miner.json # skip if you already have a key
zcd wallet address --key miner.json # copy the "persistent" 0x02… address
zycordd --testnet --dir ./testnet --mine --payout 0x02… # rehearsal, the 5th
zycordd --dir ./mainnet --mine --payout 0x02… # mainnet, the 7th
XMRig: run the node with --stratum-listen 127.0.0.1:9422 instead of
--mine, then xmrig -o 127.0.0.1:9422 -a rx/2 -u 0x02… -p x.
Pool operators: unmodified XMRig mines over Stratum. Integrate on the testnet now and report results on Discord.
Good to know
- Start any time before genesis and leave it running. Block 1 reveals a message
committed in the binary, so nobody can start the chain early. Until block 1
arrives the log says
waiting for the launch block. - Mainnet is the default and the testnet takes
--testnet. Seeds are built in. - Ran the cancelled October 1 chain from the command line? Use a new
--dir, because the node refuses the old one. The desktop wallet resyncs on its own. - 30-day slow start: the block reward starts near zero and reaches full at block 86,400.
- Subsidy split in consensus: 94% miner, 3% founder (for three years), 3% community fund. No premine.
- Rewards mature after 240 blocks (about 2 hours) on mainnet and 100 on the testnet.
- Your testnet key file works on mainnet. The addresses are the same.
- macOS: the site has instructions to build and run it.
If a serious bug turns up, the date moves, not the rules.
Check that you are on v0.6.1 or later: zycordd --version.
